Sony Electronics today divulged its XCD array of machine vision cameras 1394b interface to achieve high bandwidth of 800 Mbps. The series consists of six influential Cameras proving to be a solution for a number of jobs ranging from parts inspection to microscopy.



‘With the XCD series we are advancing both machine-vision technology and the 1394 interface,’ said Ken LaMarca, vice president of the visual imaging group at Sony Electronics. ‘We introduced the industry's first 1394 products, and now we are continuing to take the lead with this new lineup.’



The XCD-U100/U100CR is a feature-rich UXGA camera from the XCD series. The Camera provides finest quality at higher speeds, exactly required for PCB inspection, gauging and bioscience applications. With 1/3-type progressive Scan CCD engine it renders digital media at 15 frames per second with 1600 x 1200 pixels UXGA resolution.
