Nikon has recently released two new digital cameras from its Coolpix S-series. Dubbed as the Nikon S630 and S620, these 12MP cameras feature Nikkor zoom lens, Blink Proof feature, Smile Mode and Blink Warning, Quick Retouch and Subject Tracking AF. The S630 is available only in Black or Ruby Red. The S620 comes in Bright Silver, Calm Black, Noble Purple and Precious Pink. The former has a 7x zoom meanwhile the latter is less capable at 4x zoom.

The Olympus SP-590UZ is now available in Japan. This camera was introduced in Europe last month. In case you didn’t know, the Olympus SP-590UZ features a 12MP camera with its 26x Zoom equivalent to a 26-676mm, a 10fps burst mode, ISO64 to 1600 or up to 6400 in 5MP mode, and a 2.7 inch LCD screen.

Samsung to release 12 megapixels of cameraphone foolishness this month?

It's been a few years since Samsung unleashed its 10 megapixel cameraphone onto the world. Now we're hearing that Samsung will push the limits of absurdity to a full 12 megapixels 'this month,' likely at Mobile World Congress. The phone is expected to hit the production lines in February with a European debut shortly thereafter. No details are provided other than the picture above used (but not attributed) by Unwired View. If this is the unannounced phone then we can obviously expect GPS geotagging, DivX video capture, and WiFi with DLNA support. One thing is clear: Samsung thinks that Europeans are pixel braggarts with little concern for image quality.

The Nikon S230 and S220 digital cameras come equipped with Blink Proof, Quick Retouch, Scene Auto Selector and Scene Mode. These 10MP cameras also comes with Nikkor 3x zoom lens, ISO 2000 sensitivity range and Motion Detection. Available in Soft Silver, Warm Silver, Aqua Green, Gloss Red, Night Blue, Cobalt Blue, Magenta and Purple to Black, the Nikon S230 and S220 will come with 3 inch and 2.5 inch LCD displays, respectively. Fuji expands A-series with A150 and A100 boringcams

Although we're expecting big things from FujiFilm's Super CCD EXR-packing F200, we can't say we're nearly as intrigued with the two new A-series compacts the company also saw fit to release this morning. The A100 and A150 are pretty much the basic kit you've come to expect at the bottom end of things: both have 10 megapixel sensors with ISO 1600 sensitivity, 3x optical zooms with image stabilization, face detection, QVGA video recording, and a bunch of scene modes that shouldn't be too hard to completely ignore. The only difference between the two are the screen sizes -- the A100 does it at 2.7 inches, while the A150 sports a three-inch screen. No word on pricing, but we'd guess cheap.

Samsung's ES10 point-and-shoot makes vanilla sound exciting

Everybody needs to start somewhere, and Samsung is hoping that those new to that whole picture taking scene will think about getting their feet wet with the company's upcoming ES10 plain-Jane 8.1 megapixel shooter. It features a 3X zoom, 2.5-inch LCD, and a few of the fancy features that you expect on a pocket cam these days, like face detection and beauty shot. Available in black, white, and the preciously generic silver pictured above, it's even less exciting than the unassuming SL models introduced at CES. No word on price or release dates, but we're predicting cheap.

German based company Minox is popular in Japan for its tiny cameras. Komamura, the Japanese company which take cares of this product here in Japan, has announced the DSC (Digital Spy Camera) that features a 3.2MP sensor with 128MB of internal memory. The camera measures weights at just 90grams for a size of 86mm x 21mm x 30mm. You can also record video using this small camera.
