Aiptek Shows Off A New 3D Camcorder At Computex 2010

Taiwanese company Aiptek has recently showed off their newest 3D camcorder ‘Aiptek 3D’ at Computex 2010. Unlike regular camcorder, this pocket-sized camcorder has the ability to capture 1280 x 720p HD video in 3D format. In terms of specs, it sports dual lenses, a pair of 5MP CMOS sensors and has an integrated 2.4-inch 3D panel for showing your 3D video without the need for glasses. The Aiptek 3D will retail for around $200, and will come bundled with a pair of 3D glasses. Unfortunately, there’s no word on release date yet. [CNET]

Aiptek's tiny PenCam HD Trio camcorder looks more like a highlighter

Peoples' pants must be getting smaller, because so too are pocket camcorders shrinking down. Despite not making any dubious 'world's smallest' claims, Aiptek's latest is one of the most slender we've seen that's able to shoot high-def video, and quite possibly the first with a 1.1-inch OLED screen on the back for previewing what your footage might look like on a First Class Forever stamp. It'll shoot video at 720p30, capture 5 megapixel stills, and record them both to 4GB of internal memory -- good for about two hours' worth of footage. You can upload to YouTube straight from the camera's (Windows-only) software, or spin it to your TV through the integrated HDMI port. It sounds like quite a nice little package, and while we wouldn't expect the video quality to knock anyone's proverbial socks off, given the brand we wouldn't expect a shockingly high price, either. But, that we can't say for sure, nor when these will be available.

Aiptek keeps the crap flowing with AHD 300 "1080p" camcorder

Aiptek keeps the crap flowing with AHD 300 "1080p" camcorder

To be completely honest, we're not so sure there's any real difference between any of Aiptek's crapcorders. They all seem to boast some form of HD capturing abilities, utterly worthless digital zooms and expansion slots for your SDHC card of choice. Additionally, they all produce output that's marginally better than mediocre and cost next-to-nothing compared to 'real' HD camcorders. Are we missing anything, or do you really want us to run down the official specs list of the £129.99 ($249) AHD 300?

Aiptek Action HD

Aiptek is making a habit of bringing portable HD recording to some seriously affordable levels. The HDV21X Action HD 1080p High Definition Camcorder w/ Optical Zoom (known as the AHD Z500 Plus in Europe) records H.264 HD video (1,440 x 1080, 16 x 9) on a 5 megapixel sensor at 30 frames per second and 720P at 60 frames all for a paltry $199.99 at your local Wal-Mart. Expect to get up to 8 hours of 1080p video on a 32GB SDHC card. As for still images, the Z500 shoots at 8 megapixels and even sports a macro mode for both video and still. Also on board is a 3x optical zoom, CIF mode for easy YouTube uploads, a 2.4-inch swivel-mount TFT LCD, and component outputs for all the HD goodness. To top it all of, its diminutive size is worth mentioning: 4.4 x 2.75 x 1.3-inches.

Cheap 720p Video Camera from Aiptek

Cheap 720p Video Camera from Aiptek: "

9-13-07-aiptek720p.jpg

Taiwanese Camera maker, Aiptek, has burst onto the scene with its line of video cameras that are light on the wallet. Now, it seems, Aiptek is aiming for the Sanyo Xacti and the Canon TX1 with its latest Aiptek A-HD 720P.

As the name suggests, the camera shoots video at a resolution of 720p and at a frame rate of 30fps. Though the camera only has 6 megabytes of internal storage, you can expand memory through a SD slot. The device only has 4x digital zoom, which would be acceptable given its small form factor, but Canon’s TX1 has 10x optical zoom.

Nonetheless, the device can charge via AC or USB, has a component output, and a 2.4 inch swivel screen. You can also take (subpar) stills with the camera as well.

The biggest selling point is its low price: $169.99.

You can order the A-HD 720P right now from Aiptek.

Aiptek cranks out 720p pocket camcorder for $170

Aiptek cranks out 720p pocket camcorder for $170

Aiptek certainly knows a thing or two about atypically cheap pocket camcorders, so it's not all that shocking to find that the company's latest has landed for just $169.99 -- quite a bit cheaper than the $280 iteration we saw earlier this year. The five-megapixel A-HD 720P High Definition Camcorder promises to record 720p video at 30fps and offers up AC / USB charging options, a 4x digital zoom, red eye reduction, component output, a 2.4-inch swivel screen, 6-measly-megabytes of internal storage, an SD expansion slot, and the ability to take stills, too. Granted, we wouldn't have high hopes for the quality here, but it's hard to argue with a price tag that low.
